LUCKNOW, Nov. 5 -- A day after the decomposed body of a 35-year-old woman, later identified as Pooja Gupta, was recovered from a mango orchard in Mall area, police have intensified the investigation, shifting focus to her second husband, Rajju, over his "suspicious" behaviour. According to officials, Rajju reached Dubagga police station nearly ten hours after the body was found, claiming his wife had been missing for three days. When asked about the delay, his vague replies prompted officers to detain him for questioning. Officials said investigations revealed that Pooja had a criminal past and was jailed for about 18 months in connection with the murder of her first husband, Suresh, five years ago in Sitapur. After being released on bail, she married Rajju and had been living with him in a rented accommodation near Dubagga Mandi for the past two years. Police also learnt that two plots had recently been transferred in her name, allegedly from Rajju. At the crime scene, police recovered a broken mobile phone, damaged bangles, and dishevelled clothes, suggesting a struggle. Injuries were found on Pooja's neck, abdomen, face and limbs, leading investigators to suspect that more than one person may have been involved in the murder. Senior officials, including DCP Gopal Krishna Chaudhary and forensic experts, revisited the spot on Tuesday to collect fresh evidence. Post-mortem results are awaited to confirm the cause of death, while Rajju and other suspects are being interrogated....
