LUCKNOW, April 30 -- A 24-year-old newly married woman was found hanging at her in-laws' house on Tuesday in Triveni Nagar, under the Aliganj Police Station area limits. While the in-laws told the police that the woman had died by suicide, the woman's family accused the in-laws of murder over dowry. The deceased's father, Ramswaroop, a resident of Sitapur, alleged that his daughter was first beaten, then killed and hung as blood was coming out of her mouth. "On the basis of the complaint received from the deceased's parents regarding the in-laws harassing and killing her for dowry, a case has been registered under relevant sections at the local police station. The body has been sent for a post-mortem examination, read an official statement from Lucknow Police after Aliganj police reached the spot and got the site inspected.
