Lucknow, Oct. 6 -- A woman was allegedly knocked down by a speeding car outside a mall on Shaheed Path in Lucknow on Sunday afternoon, police said, adding the victim identified as Kusum Dubey had come to the mall with her daughter Neha Dubey from Transport Nagar. They had just alighted from a city bus near Awadh Shilpgram-2 and were walking towards the mall when the car hit Kusum from behind. Kusum was pronounced dead at a hospital. Her nephew, Anmol Kumar Dubey, filed a complaint at Sushant Golf City police station. A college student and a child were killed in separate road accidents in Lucknow on Sunday, police said. On Ayodhya Road, Rahul Verma, 25, was killed and two of his friends were injured when their car collided with a truck in the early hours. Rahul, who hailed from Khadra and was a BSc student at Sushiladevi College in Sandila, was returning home with his friends Abhishek and Razi when the mishap occurred. The three were rushed to RML Hospital where Rahul succumbed. At BKT, a seven-year-old boy died and four others were injured when a motorcycle collided with a handcart on the Lucknow-Sitapur Road. The motorcycle was being driven by Arvind from Sairpur. He was accompanied by his mother Indrani, and two children, Lucky Gautam (7) and his sister Kajal. Lucky was pronounced dead upon arrival at a hospital. A 22-year-old man was killed on the spot after his motorcycle was hit by a UPSRTC roadways bus under Dubagga police station limits on Sunday morning. Police said the accident occurred around 9:45 am. "The rider, Sujit Kumar, son of Godhan and a resident of Jagnikhera Saidapur under Mal police station, sustained injuries and died instantly," a police release stated....
