PRAYAGRAJ, Sept. 29 -- The 45-year-old wife of a history-sheeter allegedly committed suicide after consuming a poisonous fruit of Kaner (Oleander) plant, under Maheshganj police station area of Pratapgarh district on Sunday morning. On receiving information, police reached the spot and after preliminary investigations sent the body for postmortem examination. Daughters of the deceased have accused their father of torturing her. Police detained the husband for questioning. As per reports, the deceased's husband is a drug addict and a history sheeter. The couple have four children, including three daughters. The deceased, however, managed to educate and raise her children while enduring her husband's abuse throughout her life. On Sunday morning, upset over the torture by her husband, she took the extreme step. When her son saw her condition deteriorating after consuming the fruit of the poisonous plant, he informed the police who arrived at the house and took her to hospital where doctors declared her dead....
