LUCKNOW, Feb. 22 -- An FIR has been registered against a hotel operator in Chinhat for allegedly filing a false complaint against 13 people, accusing them of hurling explosives outside her establishment and demanding extortion money, police said on Saturday. Ankurita Sharma of Aadhar Khera, Kursi Road, alleged on April 11, 2025, that men hurled bombs and sought "goonda tax" near Malhaur. Chinhat SHO Dinesh Mishra said an SI probe found no evidence against 10 accused and noted six similar cases. Mishra said she had claimed the accused were threatening shopkeepers near a private university in the Malhaur area and demanding monthly extortion. Police also found that she had lodged similar cases in six different police stations across Lucknow, allegedly with the intent of extracting financial settlements. Based on these findings, Chinhat police registered a case against her under sections 217, 248 and 318(4) of the BNS.
