Lucknow, July 13 -- A 30-year-old woman has been arrested by for the murder of her six-year-old niece. The woman, Rubina, allegedly beat the child to death with a wooden stick, said the Indira Nagar police. Cops later found the stick based on her statement. Rubina had taken the girl, Aisa, into her care three months ago. Aisa's father, Shamsuddin from Bilaspur village in Sitapur, filed a complaint on July 8. He said Rubina, his sister-in-law, had taken his daughter to teach her but instead treated her badly and caused her death. Police registered a case under section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and began an investigation. Rubina was found and arrested on July 11 in the Chandan area of Indira Nagar after a tip-off. She later confessed during questioning. Police said she is originally from Paper Mill Colony in Nishatganj but was staying in Nizamuddinpur. The arrest was made under the supervision of SHO Sunil Kumar Tiwari. The child's body has been sent for post-mortem examination, and further legal action is ongoing....
