Dehradun, June 23 -- A 34-year-old woman, who was arrested along with her 33-year-old boyfriend on Thursday, had killed her husband over a property dispute, police said on Sunday, adding that she had promised to give the other accused Rs.10 lakh for helping her in the crime. The accused, identified as Reena Sindhu, a resident of Moradabad in Uttar Pradesh, and her boyfriend Paritosh Kumar, a resident of Bijnor in Uttar Pradesh, were arrested from Bijnor on June 19. On June 5, the police recovered a body in Dugadda area in Kotdwar. The body was later identified as that of Ravindra Kumar. His body was handed over to his family after an autopsy. "The autopsy revealed injuries on the victim's body. We registered a case under BNS sections 103 (1) (murder) and 238 (Causing disappearance of evidence, or giving false information to screen offender) at Kotdwar police station against the deceased's wife after a complaint was filed by the deceased's brother and started an investigation into the matter," said, Lokeshwar Singh, Pauri Garhwal senior superintendent of police (SSP). "The family of the deceased revealed that in 2007 he came to Haridwar from New Delhi after a dispute with his then wife, Asha Devi. During his stay in Haridwar, he met Reena Sindhu and married her in 2011. He then sold his share of ancestral land in Delhi and Haryana and purchased a house in Moradabad. He wanted to sell the house to pay off debt on him but Reena didn't agree with him," he said. The SSP said that separate teams were formed to solve the case. "We checked CCTV cameras and spotted a suspicious SUV in Kotdwar. We came to know that Reena along with her boyfriend Paritosh had killed Ravindra. After arresting them from Bijnor on June 19, they confessed to the murder," he said....
