Woman alleges harassment, assault by bouncer, aides
LUCKNOW, July 23 -- A 24-year-old woman has alleged harassment and assault by a bouncer and his associates at a bar located in a shopping mall under Sushant Golf City police limits, officials said on Tuesday.
In her complaint, the woman stated that she had gone to the bar with a friend to attend a birthday party on July 21, when a bouncer and four other men allegedly misbehaved with her friend. "When I asked them to behave, the bouncer threatened me, claiming that the club belonged to him and he could do whatever he pleased," police quoted her as saying.
Sushant Golf City station house officer (SHO) Upendra Singh said an FIR has been registered under sections 191(2) (rioting), 74 (outraging the modesty of a woman), and 115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) against a named bouncer and four unidentified individuals.
According to the complainant, a female bouncer also got involved as she was leaving the bar, leading to a scuffle. She further alleged that while returning home with her brother, the bouncer and his aides followed them in a vehicle.
She alleged that the bouncer rammed his vehicle into her friend's car. "My friend suffered serious injuries and the car doors were damaged. I also sustained an injury to my nose," the complainant alleged.
She added that she and her friend received treatment at Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences (RMLIMS) and called the emergency helpline (112) before filing the complaint. She also alleged that her phone was broken during the altercation....
