GORAKHPUR, Dec. 15 -- A 32-year-old woman and her eight-year-old daughter died while a neighbour's nine-year-old daughter was critically injured when the three of them were run over by Mordhwaj Express (train No. 14691) when they were attempting to cross the railway tracks under the Gorakhnath overbridge in the Kotwali area of Gorakhpur on Sunday evening, police said. Station house officer, Kotwali, Vijay Kumar said the deceased were identified as Savita Devi, wife of Hemant Yadav, and her eight-year-old daughter. The third victim, aged nine years, was seriously injured and is currently undergoing treatment at Baba Raghav Das (BRD) Medical College, where her condition is reported to be critical. According to police, the fast-moving train struck the victims as they were crossing the tracks around 6pm. SP City Abhinav Tyagi said, "Preliminary inquiry suggests that the victims could not hear the train's horn clearly due to the noise from a passing goods train. Further investigation into the incident is underway." Local residents immediately rushed all three victims to the district hospital. However, Savita Devi and her daughter were declared dead....
