Dehradun, Jan. 7 -- Amid the political stir over the 2022 Pauri Garhwal receptionist murder case, actress Urmila Sanawar on Tuesday said she will appear before the special investigation team (SIT) constituted in connection with a recent audio clip released by her. Sanawar, who claims to be the wife of former Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Suresh Rathore, earlier released an audio clip of an alleged telephonic conversation she had with Rathore, who purportedly revealed that a BJP leader had pressured the 19-year-old victim into providing "extra services". In a video posted on Facebook, Sanawar said that she was coming to Uttarakhand from Delhi. "At this moment, I reside in the hearts of the people of Uttarakhand. I am coming for the SIT investigation. Just as people have now taken to the streets demanding justice for the Pauri Garhwal receptionist woman, I felt that the time had come for me to come forward. I have been living in hiding for the past nine days in a gurdwara and rain basera." SIT in-charge and superintendent of police (city) Haridwar Abhay Singh said, "We have also come to know about her social media post, but we are not in direct contact with her. If she appears before the SIT, we will take forward our investigation, and take her statement. She will be asked to submit the purported audio clip, which will be sent to forensics for examination." Singh said, "We have been investigating three FIRs registered in connection with the audio clip; one in Dehradun and two in Haridwar. A fourth FIR was registered at the Dalanwala police station in Dehradun on Monday on the complaint of BJP national general secretary Dushyant Kumar Gautam. We will bring it under our ambit upon receiving a formal letter." On Gautam's complaint a case was filed against Rathore, Sanawar, state Congress unit, Uttarakhand Kranti Dal, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and other unidentified individuals over content linking him to the case. Uttarakhand police have been searching for Sanawar ever since she released the audio. Sanawar also claimed a threat to her life. Ever since she released the audio clip, protests have been taking place across the state for a CBI probe into the case to investigate an alleged VIP linked to the scam. A statewide bandh has also been called for January 11 if the BJP government doesn't order a CBI probe. The BJP, however, has denied the allegations. htc...
