Chandigarh, Nov. 3 -- The wife of Sushil Kumar, who is the key witness in the ongoing probe into the death of IPS officer Y Puran Kumar, has written to the top authorities claiming that her husband (Sushil) is facing daily torture and death threats inside Rohtak jail. She has sought his immediate transfer to another prison, citing a "life-and-death emergency." Sushil Kumar is currently lodged in district jail in Rohtak, as an undertrial in the case registered in Rohtak, which the Chandigarh Police are probing as part of alleged conspiracy linked to the IPS officer's suicide. In her letter to the Haryana additional chief secretary (home), DG (prisons) and other concerned officials, Shushil's wife, Soni Devi, alleged that two inmates identified as Sandeep and Vikas have been threatening her husband. According to her, she received a call from Sushil from inside the jail and he sounded distressed. "My husband sounded terrified... He said he is being tortured every day and his tolerance limit has reached an end. He begged us to save him," she wrote in her letter. Quoting her husband, she said he told his son on the phone: "My life is in danger in jail. Anything could happen to me at any moment. Please save me from here."...
