LUCKNOW, July 31 -- A senior CB-CID officer's wife was found dead at their official residence in Lucknow's Police Lines area on Wednesday. As per preliminary information, the woman allegedly died by suicide. "The incident came to light when her body was found hanging from a ceiling fan in one of the rooms. Following a distress call, officials from Mahanagar police station arrived at the scene and sent the body for post-mortem examination. A forensic team also collected evidence from the spot," said additional DCP (central), Mahanagar, Mamata Rani. Though the exact cause behind the incident was not yet confirmed, initial investigation pointed towards possible family-related stress or emotional distress.
