Wife aids lover in killing husband; both held in Aligarh
Agra, July 11 -- A woman in Aligarh allegedly facilitated the murder of her husband by providing a country-made pistol to her lover, who shot the man dead on Thursday. After the killing, the accused surrendered at Barla police station. Both the woman and her lover are in police custody.
"Information was received at Barla police station on Thursday morning about the murder of a man in Mohalla Kothi. A police team reached the spot and sent the body for post-mortem," said SP (Rural) Amrit Jain.
During preliminary investigation, police learnt that the wife was in a relationship with a man from the same village. "They were caught together on seven to eight occasions at hotels and other locations. The husband was aware of the affair and had repeatedly objected," the SP said.
According to police, the wife procured the country-made pistol and handed it over to her lover, who then shot 32-year-old Suresh Kumar. The accused also fired at Suresh's brother, who had tried to intervene, but missed. "The accused reached Barla police station after the incident and surrendered. The wife was also taken into custody. Both are being interrogated, and a case will be registered based on the complaint received," said Jain. Police have recovered objectionable videos and photos, indicating that there may be other dimensions to the case. "These aspects will also be investigated to ascertain if others were involved in the conspiracy," the officer said. "We are planning to maintain a register of couples in marital disputes and will arrange for counselling. This will help prevent crimes stemming from strained relationships," Jain added.htc...
