PRAYAGRAJ, May 16 -- A woman along with her two sons beat her husband to death with sticks after tying him to a neem tree in the courtyard of the house. On receiving information, police reached the spot but were allegedly misled by the woman and her sons, who had chopped the body into pieces and disposed of it at different locations. One of the sons has been arrested, the police said. Police is investigating the case by registering a case against the trio under various sections including murder. Dinesh Kumar Maurya, 58, resident of Rani Ka Tara Mohalla, under the Manda police station area, was tied to a neem tree in the courtyard of the house and beaten with a stick by his two sons Anil Kumar and Sunil Kumar and wife Sona Devi and killed on Wednesday afternoon. Some persons informed the police about the incident late on Wednesday night. When Manda police went to the spot, the trio said that the last rites had been performed. In 2002, the victim had run away from home and had gone to Gujarat for some reason. In 2023, he returned home. According to residents, he was an alcoholic and perhaps this was the reason for the family dispute. At present, the police is investigating various aspects of the case. According to SHO Manda police station Shailendra Singh, an FIR had been lodged in the murder and one son of the deceased had been arrested. According to Singh, on suspicion, when the wife and one son were interrogated, they revealed the truth. He said that the deceased, as claimed by his wife and son, used to harass the family after drinking. This seems to be one of the reasons behind the murder, he added. However, police station incharge said that probe was on and few body parts of the deceased had been recovered and sent for a post-mortem examination. htc...
