Dehradun, June 2 -- A 29-year-old man, the warden of a special school in Dehradun, was produced before a court on Sunday after he was arrested on Saturday for the alleged sexual and physical assault of two mentally disabled minor brothers enrolled in the school, police officers aware of the matter said. The incident came to light on Friday when the mother of the two children, aged 13 and 9, respectively, went to the school hostel to meet them and they insisted on being taken out, Geeta Khanna, chairperson of the child rights commission, said. She added that the children then confided in their mother and told her that "the accused posted on night duty sexually abused them". A case was registered the same day under sections 115 (2) (voluntarily causing hurt), 64 (2) (A) (rape) ad relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act at Patel Nagar police station. According to police, the mother of the minors came to know about the school online and enrolled them in April of this year. Senior superintendent of police (SSP) Ajai Singh said, "The minors were medically examined and the child welfare committee apprised of the matter. We called an expert to communicate with the victims so that their statements can be registered. Upon examining the footage and gathering the visual evidence, we arrested the warden for the crime."...
