Voting for Gram, Nagar Panchayat members held
PRAYAGRAJ, May 3 -- Voting for vacant posts of Gram Pradhan in Kaundhiara Ekouni, Badgohna Kala besides Mudarpur Khidirpur of Baharia was held on Friday.
Voting, which commenced at 7 am, witnessed the highest voter turnout - 70.14% - in Bakrawan, amongst the four villages.
There are a total of 891 voters here out of which 458 are men and 433 are women.
At the end of voting at 5 pm, 326 men and 299 women had cast their votes.
The voter turnout in Badgohna Kala was 62.95% and 60.18% in Ekouni.
By the end of voting in Muradpur Khidirpur of Bahria, 52.24% voting was witnessed. Voting was also held for the vacant post of member in ward number six in Pura Jagannath of Sirsa Nagar Panchayat.
There are 1,032 voters in this Nagar Panchayat of which 545 voters cast their votes taking the voting percentage to 52.81%.
Assistant election officer SP Baranwal said that counting of votes will take place at the block headquarters from 8 am on May 5....
