Vns div commissioner flags major lapses in housing and dev schemes
VARANASI, Nov. 15 -- Divisional commissioner S Rajalingam expressed strong displeasure over major gaps in approvals for the Chief Minister's Housing Scheme in Chandauli and Ghazipur, despite the completion of geo-tagging.
He was chairing a divisional review meeting on development works in the four districts of the Varanasi division including Varanasi, Jaunpur, Ghazipur and Chandauli. The progress of projects from various departments was reviewed, including law and order, health services, education and infrastructure. Rajalingam directed officials to ensure timely completion of public welfare schemes and improve service delivery.
A serious lapse was noted in the approval process of the Chief Minister's Housing Scheme. The divisional commissioner reprimanded the chief development officers for failing to justify poor monitoring and review, and instructed them to rectify the situation promptly.
The meeting began with a review of the PM Surya Ghar Yojana, where the commissioner expressed dissatisfaction with the slow progress in Ghazipur and Jaunpur. He instructed officials to prepare an action plan to expedite installation work. All district magistrates were directed to closely monitor progress and involve the electricity department actively.
