VARANASI, Nov. 26 -- Varanasi commissioner of police Mohit Agarwal has directed departmental action against 25 sub-inspectors for dereliction of duty in redressal of grievances received on IGRS (Integrated Grievances Redressal System). This came to light during the review of the Public Hearing Resolution System/IGRS by the commissioner of police at his camp office on Tuesday. During the review, the disposal of applications/references received on the IGRS portal, the progress of investigations, and the feedback received from the government were analysed. It was found that in many complaints listed in the October rankings, the investigating officers did not contact the complainants, so much so that these investigating officers/sub-inspectors uploaded reports in more than five cases without speaking to the plaintiffs, resulting in negative feedback from the plaintiffs/complainants, impacting the district's IGRS ranking, said Varanasi commissionerate police in a statement.
