Visually and hearing impaired woman raped; villagers thrash accused youth
PRAYAGRAJ, Jan. 8 -- A young man from a village under the Industrial police station in Prayagraj allegedly raped a visually and hearing impaired woman from the same neighbourhood on late Tuesday night. Upon learning of the incident, on Wednesday morning, the family members and dozens of villagers stormed the accused's house and apprehended him. They severely beat him up, then took him to the police station and handed him over to the police.
As per reports, an 18-year-old visually and hearing impaired woman in the Industrial Area of Prayagraj worked as a domestic help in nearby houses. On Tuesday night, she was returning home after finishing work. It is alleged that Manish Jaiswal, a resident of the same area, was sitting on the road drinking alcohol. He called the woman over and took her to a dilapidated house nearby, where he raped her. When the woman did not return home for a long time, her family members went searching for her and reached the scene of the incident, but the accused had already fled.
SHO of Industrial Nagar police station, Vipin Kumar Pal, said that a named FIR has been registered against the accused based on the complaint of the woman's family members....
