Vikramaditya Vedic Clock installed at KV Temple
VARANASI, April 6 -- The Vikramaditya Vedic Clock, which was presented on April 3 by Madhya Pradesh chief minister Mohan Yadav to Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath for installation at the Kashi Vishwanath Dham, has been installed at temple premises on Sunday, said temple administration CEO Vishwa Bhushan.It has now been set up within the temple corridor and has quickly become a major attraction for devotees and tourists.
The Vikramaditya Vedic Clock provides detailed information on time, date, day, nakshatra and yoga in accordance with the Indian Panchang. Weighing around 700 kilograms, the clock combines modern technology with traditional Vedic knowledge, offering a unique blend of Sanatan heritage and scientific application while helping people better understand Vedic timekeeping.
Described as the world's first clock based on Indian time calculation, it reflects a synthesis of tradition, Vedic computation, and scientific vision. It is also seen as a cultural bridge connecting languages, traditions, faiths, and rituals globally.
The clock is supported by a mobile application that offers extensive information on Panchang, tithi, constellations, yog, karan, days, months, fasts, and festivals, covering a timeline from 3179 BCE, associated with the Mahabharata era, to over 7,000 years into the future.
The app includes details of all 30 muhurts, along with alarms for religious and spiritual activities.
In addition to displaying Vedic time based on a 30-hour cycle, the app also provides GMT and IST, along with weather-related information such as temperature, wind speed, and humidity. Available in 189 global languages, it offers precise sunrise and sunset timings and a detailed daily breakdown of all 30 muhurts....
