PRAYAGRAJ, Oct. 27 -- The Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) has announced a nationwide initiative to steer India's youth away from drugs and alcohol. Addressing the media on Sunday, VHP national general secretary (organisation) Milind Parande said certain forces opposing India's progress and Hindu society were allegedly pushing young people toward addiction. Parande claimed that illegal opium is being smuggled into India from the Golden Crescent, covering parts of Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Iran, and the Golden Triangle, including border areas of Myanmar, Thailand and Laos. He also highlighted illegal drug cultivation detected in parts of Odisha and Himachal Pradesh, which he said posed serious threats to youth, their health, families and financial stability.htc...
