Lucknow, Aug. 23 -- The Dr Shakuntala Misra National Rehabilitation University (DSMNRU) authorities finally took note of students' protests on campus on Friday and agreed to meet their "legitimate" demands. The demands dealt with the process of hostel allotment and others related to differently-abled students and protests for them had been going on for a week. While the university spokesperson said that the legitimate demands had been accepted by the authorities and the students have agreed to end the protest, students said that they shall only end the protest once they get an acceptance letter issued officially. The protesters say that while the session has already begun, the process of hostel allocation has not yet begun creating a problem for students who have already arrived. They have demanded that till the time hostel allocation begins, arrangements should be made to temporarily accommodate such students. A student on request of anonymity said that the process of hostel allotment on the basis of marks should not be implemented. "At least considering differently abled students, hostel allocation should be increased for a few more years so that they can study with ease," said another student requesting anonymity....
