VARANASI, Jan. 9 -- Varanasi Police Commissioner Mohit Agarwal has constituted an anti-corruption cell led by deputy commissioner of police (crime) Saravanan T and co-led by additional deputy commissioner of police (crime). The cell is constituted in Commissionerate Varanasi for prevention of unreasonable demands/corruption by the police personnel and for effective action against illegal activities like prostitution, hookah bars, gambling, betting, illegal vehicle stands etc. in the district, stated a press communique from Varanasi police commissionerate. The anti-corruption cell will have two teams. A team will work to stop corruption. Assistant commissioner of police security Ram Singh Yadav will lead the team comprising anti-human trafficking in-charge Satyaprakash and two sub inspectors and three constables appointed by additional commissioner of police Law and order. Second team will work to stop illegal works. Assistant commissioner of police, traffic, Apoorva Pandey will lead the team and Special Operations Group (SOG-II) will be part of this team. A mobile number 9670705555 has been issued for the general public where any individual may inform about any illegal activity and his name will be kept confidential. The Police Commissioner will personally hear complaints on this number from 12 noon to 1 pm daily and each information will be recorded. ------------------ Commissioner of Police Mohit Agarwal on Thursday interacted with citizens through a dedicated mobile number to hear their problems and suggestions. According to a press communique, the commissioner spoke to 78 citizens between 12 pm and 1 pm on mobile number 9670705555. People shared various issues from their areas, including local problems, traffic management, gambling, land disputes and family disputes. Several citizens also gave suggestions to make the policing system more effective and transparent. The communique said the commissioner directed concerned officers to resolve the issues within a week and to implement the suggestions wherever possible. The commissioner will be available daily for direct interaction with the public between 12 pm and 1 pm on the same number. People can also send their complaints and suggestions through WhatsApp on the number. The identity of the complainant will be kept confidential....
