VARANASI, June 24 -- Union minister of state Jayant Chaudhary described the ITI in Varanasi's Karaundi and Skill India International Centre (SIIC) located on its campus as a gateway to global opportunities. He reviewed the centres on Monday. So far, more than 11,000 young men and women have been trained by the centre, several of whom have even received attractive employment opportunities in countries like UAE, Japan and Germany. "The centre in Varanasi is not just a training centre, it is a gateway to global opportunities for the youth. We want every youth of India to say with confidence that he represents the country on a global stage". Chaudhary laid special emphasis on the ITI upgradation scheme recently approved by the Cabinet, in which ITI institutes are being upgraded with modern equipment, smart classrooms and industry-linked training. He also underlined the importance of language training for the global inclusion of youth. On the occasion, Sonal Mishra, additional secretary in the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, was also present. Chaudhary is likely to announce two initiatives in Sonbhadra on Tuesday. One of them is related to the Ministry of Women and Child Development and the other to the Ministry of Tribal Affairs....
