Varanasi develops mini stadiums to promote rural youth sports
VARANASI, Aug. 22 -- Equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, mini stadiums have been constructed in three developmental blocks of Varanasi to promote sports among rural boys and girls by providing them a platform to hone their athletic talents.
These stadiums will give rural youth the opportunity to develop their sporting skills and progress further. A proposal has also been submitted for the construction of mini stadiums in the remaining five development blocks.
Chief development officer Himanshu Nagpal said that mini stadiums, featuring modern amenities, have been built in the Sevapuri, Kashi Vidyapeeth and Baragaon blocks. Talented youth and players have already begun practicing there. Each stadium includes facilities such as a running track, badminton court, and grounds for football, cricket, volleyball, and basketball. Additionally, a pavilion has been constructed to accommodate spectators.
Nagpal further informed that mini stadiums will soon be constructed in Harahua, Cholapur, Chiraigaon and Pindra blocks after the proposal receives approval. The proposal also covers stadium construction in Arazi Line and other remaining development blocks of Varanasi.
