LUCKNOW, July 2 -- Passengers travelling between western and eastern Uttar Pradesh will soon get a major connectivity boost, with the Ministry of Railways approving the extension of the Vande Bharat Express (train no 22490/22489) from Meerut City (MTC) to Varanasi Jn (BSB). According to an official order issued on June 26, the extended service will begin on August 27, 2025, in both directions. Earlier, the train operated between Meerut City and Lucknow Jn. With the new extension, it will now cover a total distance of 782.22 kilometres. As per the schedule, train no 22490 (Meerut City-Varanasi) will depart at 6:35 am and arrive in Varanasi at 6:25 pm, completing the journey in 11 hours and 50 minutes. htc...
