Vande Bharat pelted with stones in Rae Bareli
LUCKNOW, June 3 -- A Vande Bharat Express train that commutes between Gorakhpur and Prayagraj Junction was pelted with stones on Sunday when it was near Rae Bareli, officials said. No passengers were grievously injured in the incident, they added.
One of the stones broke through a window glass of coach C-1. Following the incident, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) in Prayagraj registered a case under Section 153 of the Railway Act against unknown individuals. After receiving information about the stone-pelting, Northern Railway's Lucknow Division was placed on alert. Based on inputs from the control room, the RPF and Government Railway Police (GRP) conducted a search operation near the spot in Rae Bareli. Shailja, a passenger, reported that she was travelling with her children in seats 25, 26, and 27 when a stone shattered through the window glass and fell inside the coach. Her children sustained minor injuries. Upon arrival in Prayagraj, RPF Inspector R.B. Singh inspected the coach and confirmed the damage....
