Validity of fire safety cert now five years
LUCKNOW, Nov. 13 -- The state government has amended the Uttar Pradesh Fire and Emergency Services Rules, 2024, to extend the validity of fire safety certificates.
Except for highly sensitive hospitals (institutional occupancy) and high-hazard industrial buildings, norms will be relaxed for non-hazardous buildings for ease of doing business. It has been decided to extend the validity of safety certificates from three to five years, stated an official release on Wednesday.
Fire safety certificates (NoCs) are issued based on the classification of the use of different building types. According to the National Building Code (NBC), buildings are classified into the following categories: Residential, educational, institutional, assembly type, business type, mercantile, industrial, storage and hazardous type occupancy....
