PRAYAGRAJ, Nov. 24 -- A valedictory function was held on Saturday at the Basic Flying Training School (BFTS) of the Indian Air Force, located at Air Force Station Bamrauli, Prayagraj, to mark the successful completion of No. 216 Army Pilot Course (Helicopters) and No. 216 Indian Coast Guard (ICG) Stage-II courses. Established on October 9, 1987, BFTS is a premier flying training establishment of IAF, renowned for imparting ab-initio training to pilots and preparing them to meet the challenges of modern military aviation. Air Vice Marshal Venkat Tukaram Mare graced the occasion as the Reviewing Officer (RO) and was received by Group Captain Gagan Sikri, Commanding Officer, BFTS. During the ceremony, the RO presented certificates to the graduating officers and awarded trophies to those who excelled during the course. In the APC (H) Stage-I course, Lt Tushar Sinha secured first place in flying, while Lt Manish Giri was adjudged first in ground subjects and topped the overall order of merit. Among the ICG Stage-II trainee officers, Asst Comdt Kaustav Biswas achieved first place in flying and also received the trophy for excelling in ground subjects. In his address, the RO lauded the graduating officers for their exceptional dedication and perseverance. He emphasised that completing such a demanding course reflects the high standards of the Indian Armed Forces and the relentless efforts of the trainees. He expressed confidence that the graduates would uphold the legacy of excellence as they embark on their professional careers.
