PRAYAGRAJ, June 5 -- The Basic Flying Training School (BFTS) of the Indian Air Force (IAF), located at Air Force Station-Bamrauli in Prayagraj, is set to host the valedictory function on Friday. The occasion will mark the culmination of rigorous training for the 215 Army Pilot Course (Helicopters) and Indian Coast Guard (ICG) Stage-I courses, celebrating the achievements of the next generation of aviators, said IAF officials. Since its establishment on October 9, 1987, BFTS has stood as a beacon of excellence in aviation training, moulding skilled and committed pilots for the nation. The five-month long training programme that commenced in January 2025 has equipped graduating officers with the advanced knowledge and operational expertise required for the future roles in the Indian Armed Forces and beyond, said Wing Commander Debartho Dhar, regional PRO and spokesperson (Defence), Prayagraj region.
