Uttarakhand board results declared, girls outshine boys
Dehradun, April 26 -- Girls outperformed boys in both High School and Intermediate examinations as the Uttarakhand Board of School Education (UKBSE) declared results on Saturday, with overall pass percentages improving over last year.
The overall pass percentage in High School stood at 92.10%, while Intermediate recorded 85.11%, education minister Dhan Singh Rawat announced while releasing the results at the UKBSE headquarters in Ramnagar (Nainital district)
In High School, girls recorded a pass percentage of 96.07%, compared to 88.03% for boys. In Intermediate, girls again outperformed boys with a pass percentage of 88.09%, against 81.93% among boys.
Officials said the Intermediate pass percentage improved by 1.88 percentage points over 2025, while High School results improved by 1.33 percentage points.
A total of 100,452 students appeared in the Intermediate examination out of 102,986 registered candidates, of whom 85,499 passed. In High School, 108,983 students appeared out of 112,266 registered candidates, with 100,373 clearing the exam.
Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami congratulated all students who cleared the Uttarakhand Board High School and Intermediate examinations and wished them a bright future.
The chief minister said the success reflected students' hard work, discipline and unwavering determination. He said the same dedication and self-belief would help them realise their dreams and achieve new heights in life.
Dhami also urged students who did not get the expected results not to feel discouraged, saying success can be achieved through patience, positive thinking and persistent effort.
He also extended his congratulations to the parents of successful students.
Meanwhile, education minister Dhan Singh Rawat also congratulated successful students and said the timely declaration of results reflected the dedication of the officials and teachers.
In the Intermediate merit list, Geetika Pant of Saraswati Shishu Mandir Inter College, Bageshwar, and Sushila Mehndiratta of Bhanjuram Amar Inter College, Udham Singh Nagar, jointly secured the top position with 98%.
Aryan of Saraswati Vidya Mandir Inter College, Rishikesh, stood second with 97.80%, while Vanshika of Saraswati Vidya Mandir, Mayapur, Haridwar, secured third with 97%....
