Dehradun, Jan. 2 -- Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Thursday flagged off 100 new buses inducted into the fleet of the Uttarakhand Transport Corporation (UTC), aimed at strengthening public transport services across the hill state. The buses were flagged off from the chief minister's camp office, where Dhami also dedicated 10 air-conditioned buses and two sleeper contract buses to the public. On the occasion of New Year's day, the chief minister released the Transport Corporation's souvenir Anvarat and a road safety-themed calendar, besides honouring employees who performed their duties with dedication and integrity under challenging conditions. Addressing the gathering, Dhami said the newly inducted buses, equipped with modern technology, would enhance the efficiency of the state's public transport system. "These buses will provide passengers with safe, convenient and affordable travel facilities, while also giving a boost to the state's economic, social and tourism activities," the chief minister said....
