Lucknow, June 14 -- : The urban development department is building over 2,700 smart classrooms in government schools across urban areas of Uttar Pradesh. This project will cost around Rs 324.56 crore. A spokesperson said that 1,780 classrooms have already been completed and are now being used by students. The smart classrooms are being set up under several schemes. The largest number 1,183 classrooms have been built under the smart city mission at a cost of Rs160.83 crore. Out of these, 1,088 are already in use. Under the Kayakalp scheme, about 190 classrooms have been created with a budget of Rs 57.66 crore. Another 913 classrooms were approved under the aspirational cities initiative for Rs 29.43 crore. Of these, 408 are working and 505 are still under construction. In addition, 398 more have been approved. The CM Abhyudaya Composite School Scheme has 25 special classrooms under development. The Vaishvik Nagaroday Yojana has given the go-ahead for 13 more.
