PRAYAGRAJ, April 26 -- The Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET) 2026 online application and fee submission deadline has been extended to May 3, the Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC) announced on Saturday. Earlier, the last date for submission was April 26, while the deadline for application correction and fee adjustment was May 1. The commission has now extended the correction and fee resolution deadline to May 8. UPESSC deputy secretary Sanjay Kumar Singh said the extension was granted due to technical issues in the One Time Registration (OTR) system and heavy server load caused by a sudden surge in applications. So far, more than 12.5 lakh candidates have applied for UPTET 2026. With the deadline nearing, application numbers rose sharply, putting pressure on the online system. Since the application process began on March 27, a total of 14,58,104 candidates registered for OTR. Of these, 12,80,845 were allotted OTR numbers, and 12,59,173 completed their applications.
