Prayagraj, Nov. 10 -- In preparation for the 2025-26 Magh Mela, the Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) has finalised its route plan, the number of buses to be operated, and locations for temporary bus stations during the event. According to RK Singh, regional manager, UPSRTC Prayagraj region, buses will run from three permanent stations in civil lines and zero road, along with temporary bus stations to be set up in Jhunsi and Naini. "Currently, 970 buses are operated daily on 14 routes from Prayagraj. This will increase to 1,800 during regular days of the Magh Mela and to 2,800 on peak bathing days," Singh said. He added that the temporary bus stations in Jhunsi and Naini will initially handle 730 and 260 buses across seven routes. During peak bathing days, this will rise to 1,440 and 590 buses respectively. The Magh Mela is set to begin on January 3 with Paush Purnima, followed by Makar Sankranti on Jan 14-15, Mauni Amavasya on Jan 18, Basant Panchami on Jan 23, Maghi Purnima on February 1, and Maha Shivratri on Feb 15 ....
