LUCKNOW, Sept. 7 -- The Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL) will carry out a state-wide power maintenance campaign from September 15 to October 15 to ensure a reliable electricity supply during the festive season. UPPCL chairman Ashish Goel said preventive checks of substations, poles, lines and transformers would be conducted to avoid disruptions during Dussehra and Diwali. He directed officials to provide connections to Durga Puja pandals and warned that responsibility would be fixed in case of transformer failures. Goel said that shutdowns must not be taken during the festivals. The campaign will also include tree trimming, testing of transformers and protection systems, and repair works in high-tripping areas.
