Lucknow, May 18 -- UPPCL will purchase 1500 megawatt (mw) electricity from Adani Power Ltd's thermal plant proposed to be set up in Mirzapur with both sides signing an agreement in this regard on Friday. "The UPPCL on Friday signed a power purchase agreement (PPA)with Adani Power Ltd to buy 1500 MW from the latter's plant to be set up Mirzapur," a spokesman for Adani Power Ltd said. The PPA came after the UP government, in pursuance of the Cabinet decision, issued a GO on May 7. The 1600 mw (800+800 mw) ultra-supercritical plant is expected to be operational by 2030.
