LUCKNOW, June 18 -- Amid soaring summer temperatures, UPPCL chairman Ashish Goel on Tuesday directed power officials to ensure round-the-clock electricity supply and respond swiftly to technical issues to prevent service interruptions. Chairing a review meeting, Goel instructed officials across Uttar Pradesh to remain alert, avoid shutdowns, and immediately resolve issues such as damaged transformers, line tripping, and snapped wires. Transmission and distribution teams were told to work in close coordination to avoid disruptions during the peak demand period. Strict departmental action will be taken against officials found negligent, Goel warned. "Special attention must be given to transformer maintenance, as damage during summer remains a key cause of outages," he added. Goel also directed that all transferred employees in UPPCL and its subsidiaries be relieved immediately and join their new postings without delay. Non-compliance, he said, will attract disciplinary action. Planned maintenance blacked out parts of Ghazipur and Ashok Vihar, while Suncity faced hours-long disruption due to a line fault.
