UPP welfare body launches health outreach
LUCKNOW, Dec. 10 -- The Uttar Pradesh Police Family Welfare Association, Vama Saarthi, organised statewide health check-ups on Tuesday, following recent MoUs with Tata 1mg and Apollo Hospital, as well as a joint programme launched with the AYUSH Department. According to a press release, 9,822 police family members and pensioners benefited from the services.
Under the initiative, led by Vama Saarthi president Meenakshi Singh, homeopathic consultation and medicine distribution camps were held simultaneously across all 75 Reserve Police Lines in the state. The camps offered free consultations and medicines for ailments commonly seen during seasonal changes, such as colds, coughs, viral infections, and fever.
In nine districts-Lucknow, Varanasi, Ghaziabad, Prayagraj, Kanpur Nagar, Gautam Buddh Nagar, Meerut, Barabanki, and Rae Bareli-specialised diagnostic tests were offered at heavily discounted rates through Tata 1mg. Other investigations were provided at a 10% concession on CGHS rates, benefiting 741 police personnel, family members, and pensioners.
Further supporting women's health, Vama Sarathi, in partnership with Apollo Medics Hospital, distributed 5,000 health screening cards for women over 40 across all 75 districts....
