UPEX 2025 boosts clean energy push
Lucknow, May 10 -- The Uttar Pradesh Energy Expo (UPEX) 2025 at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan emerged as a key event in India's clean energy movement, attracting over 2,500 visitors on its second day and laying the groundwork for major developments in renewable energy, electric mobility, and sustainable infrastructure.
The expo featured insightful panel discussions that brought together policymakers, industry leaders, and innovators. In a session titled "Creating a Competitive Environment for Solar Manufacturers," Arvind Kumar, chairman of UPERC, highlighted UP's growing energy demand as a lucrative opportunity for solar manufacturers. He praised the state's progressive industrial policies, which drew a record Rs.6 lakh crore in investments last year, and urged both domestic and global investors to explore UP's manufacturing potential.
Rakesh Kumar Agarwal, senior project officer at UPNEDA, noted UP's leadership in the PM-KUSUM scheme, being the first state to launch a dedicated portal for it-enhancing opportunities for solar companies. Discussions also explored the potential of agrivoltaics-integrating solar energy with agriculture-as a promising model for rural energy.
Another session, "Promoting Electric Trucks in UP," stressed the need for mega charging stations and innovation in electric vehicle infrastructure.
Atul Srivastava, regional director of the UP State Chapter of PHDCCI, said, "UPEX 2025 has united technology, vision, and grassroots innovation. The path to sustainable energy for UP lies in collaboration and capacity-building."...
