LUCKNOW, Aug. 7 -- To counter BJP's Har Ghar Tiranga campaign in the state, the UP Congress Committee on Wednesday announced a month-long Jai Hind Yatra focused on honouring martyrs which will commence from Kakori on August 8. "It was on August 8 that the call 'karo ya maro' was given by Gandhiji. BJP speaks of Bharat Chhodo Andolan and Swadeshi, but the fact remains their leaders themselves depend on foreign goods," UPCC chief Ajay Rai told reporters on Wednesday. He said, "Savarkar, Shyama Prasad Mukherjee and the entire RSS were against Bharat Chhodo Andolan. The BJP won't tell this publicly. Mukherjee had on July 26, 1942 asked the governor of West Bengal to crush the movement. The same year at the 24th Hindu Mahasabha convention Savarkar gave a call to help the British." Rai further highlighted that while the PM and the entire cabinet speak volumes of Swadeshi, the entire cabinet in Centre and UP use vehicles of foreign brands. IT cell is stashed with Chinese stuff while fact remains that India has suffered 100 billion loss in bilateral trade, till now. The PM should first follow his own words then preach others, said Rai. Former MLA Rravindra Chaudhary said, on August 8, the Jai Hind Yatra will be conducted in Kakori while the next day the event to remember martyrs will be held in Prayagraj. Similarly on August 10 in Agra and Moradabad, August 11 in Ayodhya, August 12 Azamgarh, August 14 in Mainpuri, and on consecutive days in Mau, Chandauli, Varanasi, Gazipur and Sitapur, and on August 19 in Ballia. On August 23 in Gorakhpur, August 28 in Saiyadraja in Chandauli district. HTC...
