LUCKNOW, June 11 -- The Cricket Development Committee (CDA) of the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA) on Tuesday resolved that all women's age group camps must be completed as early as possible after the inter-zonal matches. The committee discussed this with head coach of senior women's team Hemlata Kala and agreed to carry out within the available window. The committee also decided that inter-state matches for all age groups will be conducted only after final selection trials. The final trials will select a maximum of 30 boys per group. "There will be no leftovers as the committee has decided to keep the remaining 12 boys after the selection of 18 into contention through various means, including camps," CDA chief Rakesh Mishra said on Tuesday. The U-16 Inter-district and inter-zonal trial matches will be conducted in a day's format, keeping in view the format of the Vijay Merchant Trophy for the coming year. Besides this, for the first time all selectors and coaches must undergo a refresher course before the commencement of inter-district and inter-zonal tournaments. "It's an effort to bring more transparency in the selection process as we hardly get a real picture of the trials etc., in different districts," said Mishra. "Refresher courses and an updated list of dos and don'ts must be prepared and circulated for physiotherapists, trainers and managers across all age groups and gender categories before the start of the season." He also informed that all the affiliated districts under the UPCA will be responsible for organising inter-district matches. If any district is unable to conduct matches due to ground unavailability or other reasons, prior information and permission must be sought from UPCA. The committee also emphasised the need to develop and share comprehensive guidelines for inter-district matches for U-16, U-19, U-14, and U-15 categories for both boys and girls. "UPCA will arrange special camps for players who are not selected in the final squads after trials, to build and maintain a strong bench strength for future competitions," said Mishra....
