VARANASI, Sept. 3 -- Sixty of Uttar Pradesh's 77 Geographical Indication (GI) products will be showcased at the UP International Trade Show at India Expo Centre and Mart, Greater Noida, from September 25 to 29. These include handicrafts, handloom items and specialty products. Additional commissioner of industries Umesh Kumar Singh said most GI products from Kashi and nearby districts will feature at the show. Padma Shri Dr Rajnikant, known as the "GI Man of India," said the event could boost GI product business by 20-25%, benefiting around 60 lakh people linked with the sector. Of the 60 products on display, 32 are from Kashi and surrounding districts. Dr Rajnikant thanked chief minister Yogi Adityanath for providing a separate platform, adding that GI products will play a key role in strengthening the state's economy and moving towards the $1 trillion goal.htc...
