Prayagraj, Nov. 12 -- Uttar Pradesh is set to boost digital learning with the creation of digital studios worth Rs.13.5 crore in 27 District Institutes of Education and Training (DIETs) across the state. These DIETs have been chosen as Centres of Excellence under the modernisation plan linked to the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. Each institute will receive Rs.50 lakh from the union ministry of education to build modern digital studios with advanced audio-visual facilities, officials confirmed. The aim of this initiative is to improve the quality of teaching through engaging visual lessons. Teachers from government primary schools will be able to record subject-based educational videos in these studios, making classroom learning more interactive and accessible. Officials said that the best of these videos will later be shared with schools to help students understand difficult topics more easily.In the first phase, digital studios will be set up in DIETs located in Prayagraj, Lucknow, Varanasi, Jaunpur, Meerut, Aligarh, Gorakhpur, Moradabad, Muzaffarnagar, Agra, Barabanki, Kanpur Dehat and Kushinagar. The second phase will include DIETs in Azamgarh, Bareilly, Bhadohi, Firozabad, Gautam Buddh Nagar, Ghazipur, Hathras, Kanpur, Kaushambi, Mathura, Pratapgarh, Shravasti, Sultanpur and Unnao. Rajendra Pratap, principal of DIET-Prayagraj, said that during a Google Meet on November 9, proposals for setting up the studios were invited within two days. He added that Rs.40 lakh will be spent on the construction of each studio and Rs.10 lakh on equipment.
