Lucknow, June 3 -- After recent deaths caused by house collapse during hailstorms, rain, and landslides, the Uttar Pradesh government has initiated the process to classify such incidents as state-notified disasters. Attacks by bees, jackals, and foxes will also be included in this category. Several cases of bee attacks have been reported across districts in recent months. The proposal to notify house collapse, bee, jackal, and fox attacks as disasters was discussed and approved in a meeting of the State Executive Committee of the State Disaster Relief Fund, chaired by chief secretary Manoj Kumar Singh. Currently, attacks by tigers, bears, elephants, and leopards are already covered under this category. The Relief Commissioner's office has forwarded the proposal to the state government. Once approved by the Chief Minister, a formal notification will be issued. Following the notification, families of those who die in such incidents will be eligible for a compensation of Rs.4 lakh.
