UP STF busts fake marksheet racket in Meerut; 3 held
Meerut, Aug. 13 -- The Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) on Tuesday busted a high-profile racket here involved in making fake high school and intermediate marksheets for Rs.15,000 each and arrested three accused, including the gang leader.
The gang is believed to have provided thousands of students fake "high score marksheets" without attending classes or sitting for exams.
Acting on a tip-off, STF additional superintendent of police Brijesh Kumar Singh said the team raided a house in Meerut's Gangnagar area where the illegal activity was being carried out. The arrested accused have been identified as Jitendra Singh, Shiv Kumar, and Nikhil Tomar, all residents of Meerut district.From their possession, the STF seized a computer CPU, printer, external hard disk, 10 school stamps, stamp pads, fake high school and intermediate marksheets, degrees, certificates, a car, and other incriminating materials.
Investigators also found backdated certificates and forged transfer certificates (TCs) ready for distribution, ASP said. The STF has registered a case under multiple sections of BNS at Gangnagar police station.htc...
