LUCKNOW, Jan. 9 -- Uttar Pradesh's hopes for a knockout berth were dashed on Thursday as they lost their third match in a row, losing to Delhi by four wickets to stay at fourth position in the Elite Group D in the Under-15 women's One Day Trophy with just one league match to go against Assam on Saturday. Despite posting a challenging 215/8 in stipulated 35 overs at the Aditya Academy Ground at Kolkata while batting first after winning the toss, Uttar Pradesh bowlers failed to challenge Delhi batters, who romped home with a ball to go on Thursday. Skipper Khushi made a big difference in Delhi's win, striking an unbeaten 92-ball 105 with the help of 17 hits to the fence. She along with Mayra (34, 41b, 5x4) added 81 runs for the fifth wicket. Opener Kanika Mathur contributed 23 in 21 balls with the help of four boundaries. For Uttar Pradesh, Minakshi Yadav, Garima Singh, Yashika and Priya shared four wickets between them. Earlier, skipper Yashika and Minakshi Yadav struck half centuries to help Uttar Pradesh post beyond 200 runs. Yashika's 68-ball 63 was studded with eight boundaries, whereas Yadav scored 51-ball 64 with the help of nine boundaries and a six. Kavya Bhaandoh (23, 22b, 4x4) was the other key run getter.
