UP power union urge CM to cancel 'Torrent Power' franchisee
LUCKNOW, Dec. 3 -- The Uttar Pradesh Vidyut Karmachari Sanyukt Sangharsh Samiti on Tuesday urged chief minister Yogi Adityanath to cancel Torrent Power's franchisee agreement in Agra, alleging repeated violations and non-payment of large dues to the Power Corporation. The Samiti claimed that Torrent Power informed Dakshinanchal Discom that it would provide the 25% Bijli Rahat Yojana only if the Power Corporation reimbursed the amount. "This shows the anti-consumer approach of private operators and supports scrapping privatisation of Purvanchal and Dakshinanchal Discoms," said Samiti convenor Shailendra Dubey. htc...
