LUCKNOW, Sept. 26 -- In a coordinated operation under Mission Shakti 5.0, Uttar Pradesh Police recovered 12 missing children, girls, and women across multiple districts between September 22 and 25, 2025, the state police headquarters said on Thursday. The initiative focuses on the safety, honour, and empowerment of women. In Lucknow, a three-year-old girl found crying in Bhawani Bazaar was safely returned to her parents. In Amroha, a young boy missing while playing near a hotel was traced through CCTV footage and reunited with his family. In Bareilly, a six-year-old mentally challenged girl who had wandered from home was reunited with her father. In Balrampur, a young girl found alone was later identified and returned to her family in Siddharthnagar. Police teams also made recoveries in Pilibhit, Moradabad, Bareilly (a second case), Sant Kabir Nagar, Maharajganj, and Mau, ensuring the missing individuals were safely returned to their families. UP director general of police Rajeev Krishna commended the swift and effective action of police personnel in ensuring the safe recovery of the missing children and women.
