VARANASI, May 27 -- Showering praises on chief minister Yogi Adityanath, finance minister Suresh Khanna said that the CM was constantly making efforts in all directions to make Uttar Pradesh self-reliant. Uttar Pradesh has achieved a lot in all areas, including education, in the last few years, he said. Khanna, the minister in-charge of Varanasi, was speaking in a programme of the education department launched by the chief minister in the state capital. He said that the environment of learning has improved since 2017. In today's scenario, 97% of all 1,32,852 schools have been renovated on 19 parameters. He asked the teachers to constantly keep themselves updated so that they can pass on that information to students. Speaking about the achievements of the state, he said that in the last eight years our per capita income has doubled from about Rs 50,000 to Rs 93,514 and soon we will take it to Rs 1,20,000. On the occasion, Khanna distributed tablets to five teachers, ICT lab establishment certificates and material to five schools, smart class establishment certificates and material to five schools, digital library certificates and material to two PM Shri schools, books/school bags/water bottles, stationery to five students of class 1, 2 and 3, and honoured 2 block education officers of Nipun Bharat Mission. He also highlighted the remarkable work and achievements being done in the Basic Education Department in Varanasi district. He thanked all the officers, teachers, employees and colleagues of the Basic Education Department, Varanasi for their tireless hard work and dedication. "With the efforts of all of you, the education system of Varanasi has not only strengthened, but it is emerging as a model. The Basic Education Department, Varanasi has implemented many important schemes and initiatives which are contributing significantly in making the future of our children bright," said the minister....
